Built on the edge of a volcano, the village is surrounded by vines and sunflowers, it is also where the Rivers Thongue and Herault meet.
The old Roman Road "Via Domitia" runs through the village (Grand Rue) and a Roman Bridge crosses the Herault. Many of the houses date back to 15th century.
The Church has also been a place of Pilgrimage for many en route to Santaigo de Compestilla in Spain (The Way of St James.)
