News: A new 'South of France" wine branding was launched at ViniSud wine show in Montpellier in 2006.

A new 'South of France" wine branding covering France’s biggest wine region the Languedoc Roussillon has been launched for promotion of French wines to the world. The wines from the area will be labeled "South of France" or "Sud de France" in French.Wine producers taking part will add a blue banner to the bottles of wine saying "Sud de France" or "South of France". This will be in addition to the existing names of the individual wines.

Since then the vineyards and wine making have become an essential part of the region and it's culture. The taste and flavour of the wine are as varied as the landscape that produces them.
